Restaurant Week!

This past Friday Amy, Lindsay and I met up after work for the most perfect roomie date downtown. Friday was the last day of Restaurant Week here in New York. I had spent quite a bit of time checking out all the restaurants online and scoping their menus to find the perfect fit for us.

We finally decided on Primehouse, a New York steakhouse on Park Ave (fancy!). It was AMAZING. And the actual restaurant was huge. Dimly lit interior, black and white tiled floors, wine racks built into the walls. Comfy chairs, attentive staff.

Most of the appetizers were $10+ and entrees around $30+. However, because Primehouse was participating in Restaurant Week, we enjoyed a 3 course meal for only $35.

Each of us had something different for each course and we all loved everything. I had the Vermont Cheddar Bisque, 7 oz double cut sirloin with mushroom-potato croquette and house made sorbet trio. YUM!

A bit blurry, but here's my STEAK!
So delicious. As was the potato.
I think it was the best potato I've ever had.

Lindsay and Amy loved all of their food as well. I'd definitely go back if I wanted to splurge on a nice dinner!

After dinner we met up with some Fordham friends at a bar near Grand Central.

 Lindsay and Amy.
Roomies!
A bit blurry but not a bad pic of the 414 girls.
Linds and Barrett.
A bit cropped at the top, but I like the leopard between plaids!
With Cody and Matt.
Brian and Linds.
Another Brian and I.

Liz, Lisa, Jared, Vinny, Alyssa, Mike and several other people also came out to say hi! Unfortunately all I had was my camera phone so I didn't get as many good pics as usual. Perfect Friday though!

Swanky Street.

Speaking of sports, I found out last week that I live on Jorge Posada's street!!!

"Jorge was drafted by the New York Yankees in 1991, where he began his professional career with the Oneonta Yankees, making his major league debut on September 4, 1995. In the year 2000, he became the starting catcher for the Yankees, a position that he has held ever since...He is a five time World Champion – 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2009. In 2003 he tied Yogi Berra’s record for most home runs by a Yankee catcher (30)" (his website, here).

He lives (well, one of his many homes, I'm sure) on 77th between First and Second Ave, literally one block away. I walk past The Seville, his apartment building, everyday.

Unfortunately, his apartment is listed as being on the market for 11.5 million (any takers?) so I'm not sure how long Mr. Posada will be my neighbor. (Check it out!!! 4 bedroom, 5.5 bath).

I am sure, however, that there are more celebrities nearby. Jorge on 77th and David Duchovny on 78th can't be all!

Fordham Pride.

The Giants won! I was in my apartment when the game finally concluded and could an uproar of cheers from 77th Street. I also saw streams of people leaving their apartments to head towards the bars (at 11 pm on a Sunday night).

On parade day, Grand Central was absolutely insane. At 9:15 am blue jerseys outnumbered suits 10 to 1. Every downtown train was packed. Looked like half the city took off work that day!

Fordham couldn't be prouder of the Giants win...
