HOT.

It's October, and the weather has been going back and forth between summer and fall. This past week the temperature climbed back up into the low 70's, and I was sweating. 


Also, in our dorm building, they turned off the air conditioning and turned on the heat. We tried to set the thermostat to cool but quickly figured out that that just blew hot air through the vents. We discovered that if we turn on the heat, the fan, and set the temperature to 70, our apartment will get no hotter than 78 degrees. 78 degrees! RIDICULOUS! 
(*update: Fordham figured out we all were sweating and turned back on the air until today. Thank you!)

22!

Happy Birthday to me!


Twenty-two years old...how did that happen? I went to a Fordham event a few weeks ago and was given a a book for attending - Quarterlife Crisis by Alexandra Gibbons. Haha. 


Anyways, last Friday we took the Metro North into the city and then a cab to Tenzan. We had the entire upstairs to ourselves for the first half of our dinner, it was great! I ended up ordering chicken tempura and the spicy like roll (chopped spicy shrimp mixed with tobiko and crunch, mmmmm).

On my actual birthday (Monday) I woke up early to get to the gym before class. It was eerily foggy out:

Later that night back in the Bronx we headed over to Palombo's Bakery on Arthur Ave to pick up my birthday cake. They had the rainbow cake! Mmmmmmmm. We ate it back at the apartment.

Finally Fall

It's officially fall in New York, and I LOVE it. There's nothing better than a skirt with leggings, tall boots, a cardigan, a scarf, and a light trench. (Jess, I've been wearing that black coat you gave me last winter basically every day! Thank you!)


October is the best month of the year, of course.

Tonight I have dinner reservations at a Japanese restaurant called Tenzan, on 2nd Ave between 52rd and 53th St. About ten or so of us are going out to dinner for an early birthday celebration for me! Should be fun :)

Midterms...Bits and Pieces

Sorry for the lack of posting - last week and this coming week are midterms, and I'm finding that I literally have zero free time. With interning 18-20 hours a week, working 12, and going to class 10 hours, that makes about a 40+ hour week, plus the time I spend in the library studying. Also, we've had guests come stay the night with us just about every weekend, which is fun, but kind of exhausting. Too busy! Can't wait for this Friday when I'm done with midterms!


Anyways, last week at GH TV I spent some time checking out and photographing a gorgeous jewelry store on the upper east side. Although it was beautiful, unfortunately we're not using it for our shoot (it doesn't look modern enough). Look how beautiful:

 It's the wedding room - brides come here to sit and choose what jewelry they're going to wear on their big day. I'll be coming here, right after I pick up my dress at Kleinfeld's!

Random, but this tends to happen to Courtney and I a lot:

Accidental Outfit Coordination. 

We ran into each other late afternoon on campus, and I felt like I was looking in a mirror. People probably thought we coordinated on purpose.  

After a busy week, we had an even busier weekend. Courtney's brother (Kyle) and his girlfriend (Kelsey) came on Friday afternoon to spend the night. 

They left Saturday night, and on Sunday morning two of Courtney's friends from home came to spend Sunday night with us. I was at the library all day Sunday while Court and friends spent time shopping in the city. In the evening I joined them in the city, where we had dinner at Otto's, a yummy pizzeria by Mario Bateli.

Monday was a holiday, but unfortunately I still had to go into GH.

Wednesday lunch in Central Park - beautiful fall day. The leaves are finally starting to change colors. 

This past Saturday us girls headed into the city for dinner at a delicious Thai restaurant called Canteen 82, on 83rd and Columbus. I ordered Pad Thai with chicken - so yummy!
