Christmas Decor

Finals are over!

Catching up on things...

Last Friday night Lindsay's apartment threw a Christmas party!
 Yummy appetizers.
Great decorations, ladies!
 Lindsay and Courtney.
 Erin, Vinny and I.
 Molly and Lindsay.
Lindsay, Chelsea, Courtney, Christine and I.
Check out the hanging snowflakes, love them.
Brian (nice elf hat), me, Court, Kate, Vinny and Linds.

Our apartment wasn't quite as festive with our Christmas decor, but we've got the Christmas spirit!
 Rugs from madre.
Our Christmas-y table cloth.
 Home made snowflakes :)
 Liz's Christmas lights.
And an adorable little Christmas tree.

Hearst also has their Christmas decorations up:
In the lobby.

Beautiful stars hanging over the escalators.

Some Fordham shots:

Last night Eileen and I hopped on the RamVan into the city to check out the Rockefeller Center tree - it was stunning, as always!
 Radio City.

It's supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow, so hopefully I can get some pictures of a winter white Fordham before I leave. Glad I get to have a snowy Christmas before I head back to San Diego and then Hawaii!

Some Cellular Uploads

One more week! Tomorrow is my last day at Good Housekeeping, finals end on Friday, and work on Monday. Since I don't have time for a full update, here's some cellular uploads:
Macy's! Amidst the crazy 6 pm shoppers.
They have such beautiful decorations inside.
Macy's original wooden escalators.
Awesome, but a bit rickety.
From inside the shops at Columbus Center.
During Wintuk.
My favorite part of Fordham Christmas decorations: the wreath on Keating.
 Old taxis in the city.
Bryant Park tree.
Snow! 6:15 am, on my way to the RamVan.
From Good Housekeeping. Central Park looks so bare!
You can see the Christmas Market down in Columbus Circle.
Later this afternoon, post Spanish final.

One more week of classes, one week of finals, a few days of work, then back to San Diego!
Love this!

Thanksgiving Break!

Thursday evening I met Jess at Grand Central amidst the rush of last minute Thanksgiving travelers. As soon as we got back to campus, we started dinner.

 Look ma, I'm cooking!
DINNER.
Everything turned out quite delicious!

The rest of the weekend consisted of catching up on sleep (finally!) and wandering the city.

We crossed the East River to check out Brooklyn. Specifically, Grimaldi's Pizza. I was just there with Bret, and had to take Jess to experience the deliciousness.

We waited in line outside for an hour!
But it was well worth it.

From Grimaldi's we walked down to the water for some BK Bridge shots:
With our hot chocolate.

After being on the water for about 10 minutes we ran back to the subway and the warmth of underground...it's beginning to feel like winter!

Dinner was at Honey, on 14th St between 7th and 8th Ave. We picked it for the fondue - Classic Swiss served with bread, carrots, broccoli and asparagus. I loved it!

After, we walked to Bryant Park, where they have the ice-skating rink set up and the Christmas Market in full swing. Bought some of those cannolis I'd been eying last week.
The tree (not lit up yet) behind the rink.

Over the break we also saw Wintuk! What an experience. I'd highly recommend it.
The closest thing to a Cirque du Soleil experience that I've had is seeing SeaWorld's Cirque de la Mer, which was pretty impressive. But, it was nothing in comparison to a real Cirque du Soleil performance.

I love Madison Square Garden because I believe there isn't a bad seat in the house. Jess and I sat in the mezzanine, about three rows from the top. But look at our view:

I loved the stage, the costumes, and the music. The stage was amazingly decorated; it's hard to describe. All of the costumes were so incredible looking -from intricate and beautiful to downright bright and obnoxious. For the music, there were six live musicians, each playing multiple instruments in their own separate, private glass balcony boxes. Guitar, drums, violin, saxophone, etc.

And of course, the actors were amazing. You have to check out the acts, here.

At the end of the show the entire audience was caught in a 'snowstorm' and everyone walked out brushing the 'snowflakes' off their shoulders.

Christmas decorations in the city.
The Rockefeller Tree!

Took this one for you, madre!
Time Warner Center decorations.
And of course we stopped by Serendipity...
for some Frrrrrozen Hot Chocolate!
Those Christmas decorations are ridiculous.

The weekend flew by and I bid Jess goodbye on Tuesday, after we had a farewell lunch at Pugsleys and dessert at Palumbo's. Thanks for flying out to spend Thanksgiving with me Jess!
