1. It's the UES.
2. All my favorite spots are within walking distance.
Ice cream is necessary in New York humidity.
Central Park is a ten minute walk away.
The Jackie O Reservoir.
I can walk to the Grand Central Library - yes, it's near GC, but the
30 blocks don't take longer than 30 minutes or so.
The East River Esplanade is only a few blocks away.
3. The washers are 'broken' so washing is free!
4. I am proving capable of fending for myself
Tortellini!
Beef and carrot pasta!
(I think I created a new dish).
Bean and rice medley!
Pasta with beef and mushrooms!
(Another new dish?)
And not to mention lots of cereal, plain pasta, PB&J sandwiches and sunny side up eggs.
5. We're finally starting to get our apartment together
Mirrors in the entry way.
Rearranging the living room.
New kitchen set up! And new furniture!
Putting up posters in our room.
Our dresser (and more mirrors).
AC! Along with our Fordham Alum sticker.
6. My roommates like to cook
Amy made quiche!
Gruyere cheese, bacon, shrimp and spinach leaves. Mmm!
The downs of living where I do:
1. Sometimes we have apartment issues
YUMMY.
Don't worry, the water from the sink hasn't killed me yet.
2. We're apartment 2D and everyone seems to buzz us to get in the building because our button is most convenient to push downstairs. This morning the FedEx man buzzed me at 9 am because he had a package for our neighbor. Then buzz our neighbor, not me!
3. I sleep on a raft.
4. The UES is far from the UWS, so I can't go to places like this as much as I'd like:
5. My last unemployed friend in the city just got a job, so now I am alone in my unemployment.
Cody all dressed up for his first day of work!
